Global stationery brand Maped Helix has been shortlisted for a prestigious award for two of its innovative creations.

The company’s hugely popular Koopy scissors and Kid’z 360° Agility compass are both in the running for accolades at the 2019 Education Resources Awards.

Both have been shortlisted in the General Classroom Resource awards category, which will be announced on March 22nd at a gala event held at The National Conference Centre in Birmingham.

Maped’s Kid’z 360° Agility compass has been shortlisted for an award after proving a huge hit with youngsters, parents and teachers alike. Based on research into hand ergonomics, the Kid’z 360° Agility compass has been developed to tackle common problems young children encounter when learning to use a compass. Featuring a flexible head which allows the compass to turn with very little pressure and in one single movement, changing the way you use a compass forever!

Maped’s Koopy scissors have also been shortlisted for an award in the same category. The innovative design of these fun scissors provides improved grip and comfort for children while they master the art of cutting. The colourful scissors open automatically thanks to the clever spring system, making cutting easier and more fun for beginners!

Gray Richmond, Managing Director at Maped Helix, said: "We are incredibly proud of our ever-expanding range of educational products that really inject fun into learning.

“It is wonderful news that our immensely popular Koopy scissors and the new Kid’z 360° Agility compass have been shortlisted for awards. Both products have been a huge success because of their unique designs that children absolutely love. Maped Helix is dedicated to creating top quality products that inspire youngsters and we are delighted that these products are being recognised in this way.”
