Get creative to show love for The Queen

We’re asking children to draw a picture for The Queen to show that families are thinking of her as she mourns The Duke of Edinburgh.

Prince Philip was well known for letting children through security barriers to meet The Queen and now we want to gather special pictures created by the younger generation, many of whom were among the 13 million Brits who watched the funeral procession and service.

The creations could depict The Queen and/or The Duke of Edinburgh or even reflect the couple’s shared passions for the Commonwealth and conservation, there are no conditions. The pictures should be sent to us at:

Parents of children who create the pictures could also post them on Facebook @MapedHelix or Instagram @maped_helix with the hashtag #ThinkofTheQueen as well as or instead of using Royal Mail.

The deadline is Monday 10th May, after which we will arrange for the pictures to be delivered to Windsor Castle all in one go.

Maped Helix marketing manager Lianne Fletcher commented: “It’s important to teach children that people who have suffered loss need support, and so we hope the pictures will serve this purpose but also illustrate to The Queen that she is in many people’s thoughts. It would be nice to think that the pictures will raise a smile or two at Windsor Castle and for children to remember that putting pen to paper can make a difference to people who are suffering.”
